Summer Stonefruit Festival

Summer is when the hills come alive with peaches, apricots, plums, nectarines and cherries. The Kalamunda Farmers Market Stone Fruit Festival is a celebration of what the Darling Ranges are famous for ... sweet, fresh, juicy fruit, straight off the trees.

Kalamunda Farmers Market Chariperson Linda Stanley said, “Delight your taste buds with the tastings and samples offered by local farmers and producers. Bring the family to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere in Central Mall, Kalamunda as buskers entertain you, experts show you how to graft a fruit tree, Hills Bouncy Castle gives free bounces to children, free farmers market balloons for children, our chef demonstrates how to cook healthy simple nourishing meals, and the newly formed Friends of Kalamunda Farmers Market members.”

Entertainment including the Morris Men and award winning Choir, Vocal Evolution are sure to please crowds and create a great atmosphere on the day. The Perth Morris Men perform traditional dances from the Cotswold Hills and other areas of England.

Vocal Evolution is an all male group who recently won the gold medal in the Open Chorus Contest at the AAMBS National Convention. On top of this Vocal Evolution quartets took out three of the top five places in the Open Quartet Contest with Alliance winning gold (for the second time), 3 Men & A Tenor being awarded the bronze and Nexus coming in close behind in fourth place. 3 Men & A Tenor also took out the Audience Favourite and Most Improved awards.

“Come along and delight your senses. The Kalamunda Farmers Market Summer Stonefruit Festival will operate from 8am - 12noon on Sunday January 31 in the Central Mall and Mead Street Carpark in Kalamunda.” Said Mrs Stanely.
