Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber advocates and supports the business community within the Shire of Kalamunda, through providing community relations, exposure and recognition for our members.
Kalamunda Chamber - Promoting Perth Hills
The Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce is always looking for ways to support the businesses within Kalamunda and surrounding districts. In the past few years our focus has been on developing tourism strategies and links to ensure the area is well known by both locals and visitors. This has included links with the Shire of
Kalamunda and the establishment of various initiatives.
After merging with the Kalamunda & Districts Tourism Association and the Bickley Carmel Valley Tourism Association, the Chamber now is the chief operator of the Kalamunda Visitors Centre and the Bickley Harvest Festival .
In May 2009 the Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce opened the Kalamunda Farmers Market . The market operates EVERY Sunday morning from 8am - noon in the Central Mall Kalamunda. The Shire of Kalamunda has an abundance of local stone fruit growers and with such fertile soils and large plots of land avaliable, we have a great selection of growers selling direct to the public every week. With an average of 40 stalls each week visitors are sure to pick up some lovely fresh produce. Plus we have entertainment for all and a free bouncy castle for the kids.
Kalamu
nda, being located on the Darling Scarp has many beautiful walk trails through natural bush and boasts fabulous views of the city from the many vantage points. One of the most iconic places in Kalamunda is the Zig Zag Scenic Drive. Formally a railway it now is a one-way road (entry from Goseberry Hill) which zigs
and zag's down the escarpment through the wildflowers and natural bush.
With its many hills and many challenges (not to mention the delicious cafe's in town) Kalamunda in Perth Hills is a cyclists mecca. The Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce is embracing the gifts that our area has for cyclists and will be launching the Tour de Kalamunda in May 2011 with a time-trial event up the Zig Zag Scenic Drive.
