Shop Local Program
Overview
Our Shop Local program is aimed at encouraging residents to shop within the shire at all times, and to combat the tendency of residents to drive to Cannington, Morley and Midland in the warmer months, to shop.
We are working closely with the Shire of Kalamunda to support local businesses, and encourage economic development.
Conduct
The program will entice residents to visit the chamber website to redeem value-offer vouchers, which can be presented at the specific participating businesses. On the homepage there will be a 'Shop Local' button, which will take them to a page which contains a list of vouchers. They can click on the offer that they are interested in, and print it off.
Participating businesses can retain the vouchers to track the effectiveness of the campaign. They will be encouraged to return the vouchers to the Chamber, and will go into the draw for prizes for doing so.
Promotion
Advertising will be done in local media to drive residents to the Chamber website homepage. This may be in the form of advertisements, or an insert. This promotion will be ongoing in the media to maintain interest in the program.
Participation
Any business within the Shire of Kalamunda can participate, though special rates will be given to Chamber members and sponsors.
