Board and Management 2019

President - Caroline Babbage

Caroline Babbage

I envisage a strong and dynamic committee committed to actively seeking out members’ needs and opinions. The appointment to the Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce board of members representing tourism, trades, retail, financial services will ensure a balanced focus benefiting all members.

Kalamunda is uniquely positioned both in terms of its environment and its proximity to a rapidly growing Perth. Through a managed approach, working with stakeholders such as the Shire of Kalamunda, Tourism Western Australia and the Eastern Metropolitan Council a successful well led Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce will benefit all local businesses.

At a personal level I have gained valuable business experience over the past 13 years through the very successful establishment of Fawkes House Country Spa Retreat. Award winners for the past seven years locally, Fawkes House recently was also awarded Silver in the Hosted Accommodation 2015 Western Australia Tourism Awards.

I am looking forward to an exciting 2018 representing members’ interests, and developing a strong, inclusive, open and transparent KCC to benefit all businesses and the wider community of the Shire of Kalamunda.

With the progress and development of the suburbs in the foothills of Kalamunda, demographics have changed in population, with growth in numbers of residents as well as in established and new local businesses. There is tremendous opportunity in this ‘growth corridor’ to offer membership and support to these businesses in setting up an organisation that can offer a;; the necessary attributes to facilitate structured growth and financial well being. The Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce is well placed to enter this arena and assume the role. This was the reason Fazial became a member of the Kalamunda Chamber in the latter part of 2018 and was elected as a member of the Executive Committee.
